No need to let it sit for 2-3 days!
When I need to use the milk, I just put my grated soap and water on to melt in a double boiler, let it heat until there are no obvious chunks of soap, which usually takes 15-20 minutes (at this point it usually looks like yellowish, clearish mashed potatoes), add the milk, stir it in, and heat for another few minutes. After adding the milk it will stop being this big gob of goo, and turn into a thick, thick, liquid. (Heavy cream consistency)Add the rest of my additives, then check the temperature, and pour into molds when it reaches 160' or so. The whole process for a 12 oz batch usually takes me about an hour, and that includes cleanup time.

I guess the best way to describe what you are looking for is something that will pour nicely and fill every detail of your mold smoothly, but not watery. I hope that it really worked for you, I was beginning to think that I was nuts, because it wasn't working for anyone else! (Except for my sister)
