I don't know how large your batch size is, but what I have done before is: rebatch the soap, before it's completely melted, make a half batch of the same soap and add the additional lye to the half batches water, blend to trace, add the rebatched soap to the new one blending well and hurrying to get into the mold. The trick is to really blend well, even if you bump up the water, or add milk to make it more smooth. I have saved several batches this way, and the soap turned out nice. I once added the additional lye+ some water to the rebatched soap, and it just didn't turn out as well as just making a half batch of new to add to the rebatched. Clear as mud? Hope all goes well. If your soap batch is small, this ounce+ is significant, but if your batch is large like mine (24lbs) than an ounce just creates a little higher value of super fating..and I wouldn't worry over it. Just use/sell it first.
Doing ok.. need to make some soap myself. Haven't lately, and am almost out. I opened a place where I do facials (I am an Esthetician.) and sell my wares.. wish I were busier, but where I live in Florida is a dinosaur grave yard... old retirees, don't part with money....and a quarter is still a good tip.. (lol).. Debbie-gms
