Re:excessive sweating when using soap! - 2009/04/01 08:31 I am in total agreement with Joe. As well, look at your lye discount. IMHO, anything over 6% is excessive. It is really important to use a combination of oils. Coconut for example is great for cleansing but not conditioning, whereas avocado or almond would be almost totally conditioning. Try using some palm or stearic to help harden the bar too. We have mentioned on this board before that pure olive oil soap is great, but slimy! When I make what I call "castile" soap I still put a percentage of palm and coconut to balance it out. At any rate, welcome to the wonderful world of soapmaking!!
